New iPad VS Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Here is the detailed comparison of the New iPad and Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime.

The Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime is the best Android tablet till date, offering you the freedom to use it as a tablet and notebook, thanks to its detachable dock keyboard. While the new iPad is all packed with Retina Display, quad core GPU and faster chipset. Both the tablet has same display size i.e. 10 inches vertically with features like super thinness, light weight, IPS display and metal backs. Not getting much into features from here, we move on to the categorized comparison and we start with display.

New iPad-VS-Asus-Eee-Pad-Transformer-Prime

The new iPad has beautiful looking Retina Display with 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution. Now this is not just sharp but Apple even says that it has the 44 percent higher color saturation with good contrast ratio.

The Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime is cladded with Gorilla Glass with Super IPS + screen and brightness at such extremity that it can be viewed properly under scorching sun.  Now the contrast level of this Android tablet is of course better than the new iPad. However lets not forget that the Apple tablet has colors that are richer and deeper and naturally the new iPad is winner because of its Retina Display and better color depth and sharpness.

Both the slates are no doubt the fastest tablets around but the new iPad seems to be a pinch faster than the Asus tablet. The challenge to play 3D games can be equally matched. To get into specs the new iPad has a clocking speed of 1GHz with dual-core processor and the Asus tablet has quad-core graphics with 1.4GHz clocking speed.

The quad-core graphics with a clocking speed of 1.4GHz is no doubt the best in comparison to the processor of new iPad but the quad-core graphics seemed to outrun the graphics. When both the tablet went through the benchmark test, the quad-core powered Tegra 3 processor was noticeably faster than the dual-core CPU of new iPad.

Battery Life:

Both the tablets are good with batteries and there is no doubt about that, while the new iPad received double the battery of iPad 2, the Prime has lots of battery, as it really doesn’t require much power, thanks to its power efficient quad-core CPU. Plus the Prime is offered with second battery backup in the external keyboard dock that adds additional 4 hours of battery life. Here too the Prime is the winner.

Operating System:

While the iOS is still best mobile OS in the world, Android is not much far from it. The app selection in Android has considerably increased along with quality apps. But still there is no match to 3D games available in iOS App Store in comparison to Google Play Store. And the winner is new iPad.

In customization there is no beat to Android unless the iPad is jailbroken. The iOS interface offers very less customization and on the other hand Android’s customization is as far as your mind can think of. The weather widgets and availability of different themes is something all iOS users despise in their iPads.

In hardware the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime comes with a keyboard dock that converts the tablet into 10 inch notebooks with trackpad. It even offers expandable microSD card and HDMI port. With all these features the Prime is a replacement to computer with complete different OS. And the winner is undoubtedly the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime.

Easiness of Usability:
As we said the new iPad is very easy to use, thanks to iOS. The UI is very simple and accessible to things that are very misguiding in Android. The new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is bit improved in usability but still not that easy as the iOS is.

Final Verdict:

If you are out to buy a tablet who is not much into technology stuff and just want the best tablet to suit all your daily needs, the iPad is no doubt, still the best tablet around.  But if one is in need to buy for all the great features with fully customized OS and a typing hardware then Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime is the best.

Overall both the variants have different niche with the new iPad is considerably best for the apple family buyers and Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime can be great for the people who are the fond of technology and better battery efficiency.
